Message in a bottle

Message in a Bottle is a global school initiative developed as part of the One Ocean Expedition 2025-2026. Across different coastal communities, students explored how the ocean is changing — through science, creativity and personal expression.

When Statsraad Lehmkuhl arrived in port, selected student groups came on board to present their work and hand over their messages directly to the captain. The ship carried these messages along the sailing route, connecting young voices across countries and cultures.

A selection of the contributions was presented in an exhibition in Bergen at the end of the expedition, in April 2026.

The educational framework was developed by Drew School in San Fransisco.

All student contributions will be presented here (content is still being updated).
